American Heart Association BLS/CPR

Class Description: The AHA’s BLS Course has been updated to reflect new science in the 2020  American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care.

This video-based, Instructor-led course teaches both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills for application in both in-facility and pre-hospital settings.

This is the International English version of the BLS Course. The  training materials have been adapted to include metric units of measure and other references that apply to students outside the U.S. and Canada. 


Audience                 

For healthcare professionals who need the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner. 


Content and Modules                 

  • Importance of high-quality CPR and its impact on survival
  • Application of the steps of the Chain of Survival
  • Signs of someone needing CPR
  • High-quality CPR skills acquisition for adults, children and infants 
  • Importance of early use of an AED
  • AED skill demonstration
  • Effective ventilations with a barrier device
  • Multi-rescuer resuscitation and skill acquisition
  • Techniques for relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults, children and infants.

American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR with AED and First-Aid OSHA Approved

 Class Description:  For anyone with limited or no medical training who needs to  learn how to respond to and manage a first aid, choking or sudden cardiac arrest emergency in the first few minutes until emergency responders or healthcare professionals take over.
Students learn skills such as: 

  • how to treat bleeding,
  • sprains,
  • broken bones,
  • shock and other first aid emergencies.


This course also teaches adult CPR and AED use. 


Audience                

Intended for anyone with little or no medical training  who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory or other  requirements.
These courses can also be taken by anyone who wants to be  prepared for an emergency in any setting. 


Content and Modules                 

  • Describe the key steps in first aid
  • Describe the assessment and first aid actions for the following  life-threatening conditions: heart attack, difficulty breathing, choking, severe bleeding, shock, and stroke
  • Use an epinephrine pen
  • Control bleeding and bandaging
  • Describe how to find information on preventing illness and injury
  • Recognize the legal questions that apply to first aid rescuers
  • Perform high-quality CPR for an adult
  • Demonstrate how to use an AED on an adult
  • Optional modules: Child and Infant CPR
  • Optional written exam

Non-OSHA: $125.00

Combat Life Saver

 Class Description:  This class starts with the American Heart Association’s Heart saver CPR, AED, and First Aid, BUT quickly goes into more advanced medical care. 


Topics include:·

  • stroke,
  • use of Narcan,
  • use of an Epi pen,
  • diabetic emergency,
  • bleeding control,
  • gunshot wound,
  • sucking chest wound,
  • stabbing,
  • splinting,
  • heat injury,
  • cold injury,
  • evacuation planning, and
  • IFAK versus Bobo bag
